“Anyway – it doesn’t matter – Sirius won’t care if it’s unusual, he’ll come back, I know he will!” And so strong was his belief, Harry actually turned his head to check the door, sure, for a split second, that he was going to see Sirius, pearly-white and transparent but beaming, walking through it towards him.

What are your James/Sirius quidditch headcanons?

excepttheeyes:

I still haven’t decided if I imagine Sirius playing Quidditch or not. Part of me likes to imagine James and Sirius and the dynamic duo but there’s also a part of me that thinks Sirius would enjoy playing it but wouldn’t choose to go out for the team. If he did play, I’d say he was a Chaser as well but as I write this out I think I’ve come to the conclusion I don’t see him playing but I’m good either way.

As for James, I like the idea of him trying out in his second year and they told him he was really good but the fifth year trying out was better at interception and he should come out again next year for sure. He put on a little more muscle and practiced his throwing and tried out again in his third year and made the team. Managed to become captain in just his fifth year and could be a bit like Oliver Wood. Had early morning suicide practices on Saturday. Made them practice in harsh weather, but was quicker to end practice when conditions were too harsh. Hated running tryouts and had Sirius come help him with them. He was tough on the team when he needed to be but it really paid off so no one resented him for it and he did his best to make practice enjoyable and his team really respected him. He made time to establish friendships with teammates outside of practice. He would schedule one-on-one practices when people were struggling. Hurried around the great hall on the morning of games and shoved food onto everyones plates. Made the team run laps around the pitch “to build stamina, that’s why.” Was known for making risky but very calculated moves. Ended up in the hospital wing a lot. Was always bleeding somewhere after games. Got slammed by a bludger so hard once that it broke nearly every rib in his body. Strongly defensive of the newer players and comforting them when there were upcoming games and the insults in the corridors started up. The World Cup made him excited to go back to school and try out new plays. Was fiercely adamant about the advantage of female players. Was the first to tackle the Seeker into a hug, followed by a team pileup, when they won a match. He got rather emotional when they won the Quidditch Cup in his seventh year because it was his last game and he figured with the war coming it would be the last time he played on a Quidditch team for quite some time, or ever. And this seems like a common headcanon but Puddlemere United was his favorite team.  And that’s all I got right now.

I’m not sure if you’e already answered this but you know how you did little headcanons for peter during his hogwarts years? Could you do one for James or Sirius? Thanks! (you’re a brilliant writer)

Sure!
James:
I did Quidditch headcanons here

  • James had a crush on Lily for most of their time at Hogwarts but 6th year was when he actually started to develop strong feelings for her.
  • He played guitar (not very well, but he could).
  • He was the last Marauder to realize Lily fancied him.
  • James wanted a whole army of children, having found being an only child rather lonely.
  • He excelled in every subject aside from Potions and History of Magic, which he claimed he didn’t have a long enough attention span for.
  • He bit his nails.
  • He tapped his quill on the table, which drove Remus and Lily crazy.
  • He had extremely warm hands.
  • He made up nicknames for Lily mainly to annoy her, but Evans was the default.
  • He had his father’s eyes.
  • James always pretended to hate Lily’s cat but he secretly adored it and she caught him playing with it in fifth year and she gloated for a week straight. This led him to try to win the cat over and steal it’s attention away from Lily. He gloated about it until the day he died.
  • James always stowed his wand in his back pocket and Mad-Eye yelled at him for it constantly.
  • He was left-handed.
  • James had a really hard time coping with death and dealt with it differently every time. When his father got sick, he found it hard to be in the same room as him and when he died, he was angry and trashed his dorm. When his mother died, he was quiet and empty, which everyone agreed was much worse.
  • He was a total mama’s boy.

“Apart from my transformations, I was happier than I had ever been in my life. For the first time ever, I had friends, three great friends. Sirius Black, Peter Pettigrew, and, of course, your father, Harry ― James Potter. Now, my three friends could hardly fail to notice that I disappeared once a month. I made up all sorts of stories. I told them my mother was ill, and that I had to go home to see her…I was terrified they would desert me the moment they found out what I was. But of course, they worked out the truth…And they didn’t desert me at all.”

“I ran away when I was about sixteen. I’d had enough…I hated the lot of them: my parents with their pure-blood mania, convinced that to be a Black made you practically royal…my idiot brother, soft enough to believe them…They thought Voldemort had the right idea, they were all for the purification of the wizarding race, getting rid of Muggle-borns and having pure-bloods in charge.”
