RULES OF PLAY
The games are based on ideas I had from looking up some English archaic terms.
Bodkin (Daggers)Â
Usually played in taverns and amongst soldiers. How many consecutive blades can you hit without missing? Double points for the corners. Miss a Bodkin and you’re only way back is by hitting the center star.
Bijoux (Trinkets)Â
Favoured by the Elite and returned crusaders. The quest for the Holy Grail starts out with the Sun and Moon! From there follow your mission by collecting Allies before taking on the Hands Of God. First to reach Terra Centrum takes the Bijoux!Â
Doxy (Lovers)
The most common game known by Medieval Sims is Doxy. Choose a Suitor then pick a Wife. The third dart must always select the Witness to initiate the affair proper! Decide with care for the corners hold the Nobles. A Peasant Witness is fine for some, but the highest score is always achieved by those who match their marriage accordingly.
(None of these games actually existed historically – they were invented to go with the designs I’ve used, make up your own rules or just use them as Medieval Dartboards without rules if you don’t have the same sort of brain as I do when playing 🤷)
Lookout for my Medieval Hopscotch Courts which I will be releasing soon.
PLEASE reblog if you know any TS3 Medieval Simmers! This is NEEDED because it’s not like our Sims can just watch TV ya know!
Please don’t claim this work as your own. I made these myself with TSRW and GIMP. I also used a picture of some Medieval Playing Cards, some Dagger Clip-Art and some sort of Medieval Latin Puzzle all from Google Images.
I know the the Simlish Font ones aren’t that great but these were going to be just for my brain and I wanted English (like I normally do with all my CC) and wouldn’t have bothered doing a Simlish version at all were it not for the suggestion from @nornities and @mspoodle1 therefore, take them or leave them 🤷
Just like the other (uglier) functional practice dummy, it moves as your sim literally kicks the stuffing out of it, and makes the sound effects and everything.
Has a few color variations, and should be found under Sports and Hobbies and Outdoor Activities or whatever they’re all called.
Welcome to the monk’s library! He and the bear friends would like to show you the beautiful collection of texts. Don’t worry! They will let you read them too.
The medieval books have different bindings and content depending on the type of book. There are:
Skill
Recipe
Foreign books (Chinese, Egyptian and French are all unique)
Textbook
Sheet Music
General
Comic
Not all depicted here, though xDÂ
The books from the past I did not change, they’re already old looking. The future books I didn’t change either… I don’t see the point xD
I’m really purturbed at how tiny the majority of the texture files are… then there’s like 20 from UL and ITF that are 3x the size! Sadly those are going to be the ones that most medieval players probably won’t have out 😣 I really recommend opening up the file to look at the bindings though, they’re very pretty!Â
I’m especially proud of the Chinese and Egyptian book defaults though. The coptic book was beautiful… and since traditional oriental texts are in SCROLLS I kinda had to fudge that but it turned out pretty good 🙄
My tou are this: don’t claim you made it, enjoy it, let me know if you have any issues, feel free to tag me if you use it 🙂
Glennborough is a fantasy town in
medieval Ireland. Green succulent pastures, stone walls, mountain
chains and a lot of rocks characterize the landscape as well as the many
ruins, but also castles and palaces glitter in their former glory.
Clans, high kings and kings fight bitterly for their territory. The
bourgeoisie and the high nobility are united, and in turn are disputing
about their rights and duties. And then there are the Normans, who are
continually pushing into the interior of the country, and by force take
what is theirs…
Farmers, cattle breeders, shepherds and
craftsmen form the slightly greater majority in Glennborough. They are
also fighting for their freedom and their rights. In Glennborough there
is peace at moment, the nobility and the bourgeois live in a peaceful
coexistence. But who knows how long?
– build with all EP’s inkl. Isle Paradies – comes with CC – i recommand to install all packages, otherwise the world does not work (rabbithole carpets) or looks not how it should looks. – I do not give technical support – have fun with that medieval world
Entertaining aristocracy is a tough job, but this place makes things a
lot easier. And even if no true royal blood flows through you veins, you
can still enjoy the performances of artists from all around the world.
But you might sit a bit… further down. Or not sit at all.
