I mean I would KIND OF understand if they didn’t know the whole story before drawing it but… knowing that Hector loved his family so much that he abandoned his dream and that Ernesto fucking murdered him in cold blood because of that?? Bro wtf is wrong with you

Ok, so, can you imagine the first time Hector tried to cross over on Dia de los Muertos, and learning he couldn’t, because no one had put his photo up? And thinking Imelda was angry with him even after his death, because surely his best friend Ernesto had informed his family of his passing? When really Imelda believed he had completely abandoned them, never to return, because Ernesto had neglected to tell her anything? It just makes everything worse. I just made myself sad x10. I’m going to go cry, now.
Please write that fanfiction, there isn’t enough of it for coco
If Disney was wise enough, they could’ve made a new short for Coco with these guys focusing on the theme of day of the dead rather than putting a short with an idiotic snowman(which in the end got pulled from Mexican theaters due to negative feedback).
