Was Genji ever like, “What are your intentions with my brother?” to McCree?

nitewrighter:

I think at that point Genji knew McCree well enough to be able to tell the difference between a passing fancy and like, McCree actually falling for someone. I don’t think Genji was super protective of Hanzo so much as like, “Hey, my older brother is weird and super emotionally constipated, so if you’re serious about this he’s gonna need space and patience.” Like, Hanzo’s a grown-ass dude, and McCree may be a charmer, but it takes a hell of a lot more than charm to get Hanzo to warm up to you.

When their eyes met at the airport, the red thread between their hearts pulled tight, knitting together to the point of never being untangled. Hanzo left his bodyguards behind in order to make a beeline for tall, bulky Jesse McCree, stepping through the arrivals doors and sticking out like a sore thumb amongst the Japanese natives.

“Whoa, Hanzo!” McCree beamed as the shorter man reached him and practically threw himself into those long, safe arms. “Shucks, darlin’, I missed you, too!”

“Fool,” muttered Hanzo into his partner’s neck. “You will never be away for such a long time again.”

Jesse chuckled, not making any move to extract himself from this rare Hanzo-hug. “A long time? Hanny-bee, it’s only been two weeks.”

“Yes, but…” Shimada frowned, pulling back to get a proper look at McCree’s face, running his hand gently along his strong jaw – his beard had grown out. He hated it. “I missed you from the moment I lost sight of you.”
