mermaid AU doodles?? I guess?? I had this idea that Riku’s a mermaid whisperer of sorts in that he’s got like mermaid blood/heritage way back or something and he can communicate easily with them and has a sensitive sort of connection with them. He’s known as like a guardian of sorts for the merpeople around the waters of the beach he frequents and one day just finds sora caught up in some net and saves him and?straight up takes him home? and gives him a bubble bath for some reason??ehhhh???
I actually spent all my free time of the last two days on this @_@“ (so much for my resolution to do small and simple drawings.) Urgh, I’m sorry for my handwriting.
Page 1: Saix: Axel. Axel: …
Axel: What? Spit it out already.
Saix: Will you … eat some sea salt ice cream with me? Axel: … (processing, please wait.)
Saix: Nevermind. Just forget it.
Page 2: Axel: Oi, wait! You can’t just walk away like that! That’s not fair! Saix: …
Saix: Then tell me. Will you? Axel: …
Axel: Not as long you’re acting like that, that much’s for sure. So, no more running, okay? Saix: You mean …
Axel: Of course I will! After all we’re still friends, right?
Page 3: Saix: … right.
Axel: Wait, was that a SMILE just now?! Saix: Oh, shut up.
I guess Saix was trying to ask this question for days, if not weeks and that’s what happened, when he finally managed. Axel, who had actually almost given up on his friend was obviously rather surprised by it. (who wouldn’t?) He probably expected him to order him around or to say something mean about his (new) friends and well, when that question came he just decided to give Saix another chance. Because maybe, just maybe, their friendship was not completely lost after all.
Yesterday I was like “hey consider dating sim where you can just date everyone in Organization XIII” on Twitter and folks were like “YAS OMG I NEED”. Somehow it came to this….uh…..THING of drawing mock-sprites for some imaginary dating sim??? Also because I’m garbage, in this game you play as Aqua and you can romance anyone you want except for Zexion, Roxas and Xion. And BECAUSE I AM ALSO AU TRASH, THIS SIM IS LIKELY GONNA BE IN A CAFE AU SETTING HEUHEU
First of all, I want to thank blackpaopu for this GORGEOUS art they made. I am so happy they commissioned this, and everyone should totally check out their blog, highly recommend 10/10.
But this is a gift for skypillar! She wrote a fantastic fanfic called “Why the Sun Sets Red” over on AO3 which this piece is based off of. It’s a 358/2 Days AU where Vexen takes Axel’s place and raises befriends Roxas and Xion instead. For anyone who is curious about it, the story does NOT end the same way as it does in the game. It’s cleverly written to accommodate Vexen taking Axel’s role and stays true not only to everyone’s character, but the situations are extremely creative. Just as emotional if not moreso as the original story, I can’t recommend it enough.
I wanted this to capture my favorite chapter in the story because this moment was just so pure and fun. I wanted something to dedicate such a high point in the fic, and so I bestow this gift to her! Happy one year anniversary to “Why the Sun Sets Red”~
