For a time after that one, deafening toll, there is only silence.

Little by little, sound returns – but it’s different from what he left behind. He remembers music, he remembers his own voice, the last note of a song leaving his voice… and then that toll before all went quiet. Now there is no music: only hushed voices, the rustling of sheets. There are smells, too; flowers, he can smell flowers, but beneath it all there is another smell that frightens him, that of disinfectant.

Where am I? What happened to me?

He tries to open his eyes and he manages, for a few moments, but all he sees is blinding whiteness, and then darkness once more. Again, he drifts.

After a time – how long? All he knows is that there is a bell tolling somewhere, there must be a church nearby – he can tell he’s lying on his back someplace soft. A bed, but not his bed. And worst of all, someone is touching him, moving him around, taking off his clothes and no, stop, what is going on?

He tries to cry out, but he can’t find his voice, and that is terrifying. He tries to move, but he cannot, and that is worse. Finally, with a terrible effort, he opens his eyes. The whiteness is blinding, someone is towering over him and he tries to get away, but his limbs do not respond. His body doesn’t respond. There is a hand holding his wrist, he can see it, but he can’t feel it – he can’t feel a thing.

Why can’t I move?

“Señor de la Cruz? Señor de la Cruz, please, stay calm–”

Ernesto de la Cruz shakes his head and that is all, it’s the only thing he can do. Shake his head, and scream. Because his voice, that he does find again.

His body, however, will never again respond to his will.

Coco Characters by Characters they’d play in Overwatch

Because I was playing overwatch, and my mind wandered to this. :l

Miguel: Flex player. Prefers playing hitscan characters.

Héctor: Support main. Can’t play dps to save his life. Leaves tanking to Imelda, who helps him boost his rank in comp (he’s silver, she’s platinum). Mostly plays Lúcio, but he’s decent with the other supports too.

Imelda: Tank main. Gets irritated whenever someone asks why she doesn’t play Mercy if she’s a girl. Mostly plays main tanks (Reinhardt, Orisa), but can play an off-tank in a pinch.

Ernesto: That guy who instalocks dps and sucks the whole game, but refuses to switch off. Claims he’s doing his job by pointing to gold damage/elim medals. He also plays cheese characters frequently and triggers the hell out of the enemy team. Probably got carried to diamond/masters.

Coco: Treasure Planet AU

the-skull-guitar:

Part 2: Details on the AU up until before the mutiny.

Buckle in folks, this post is gonna be a long one.

I’ve been thinking about this AU, and how to make it work (where it stays similar to the canon storyline and where there needs to be changes), a lot over in the cocolocos discord.

Two key things to know before I go into the mostly full, kinda messy, breakdown of the story:

Coco is Jim’s character in this AU. Filling that role of the teenage protagonist with an absent father and a mother who runs her own business (Imelda and her shoe shop of course), with her younger twin brothers.

Hector is Silver. However, instead of turning to piracy and seeking Treasure Planet under his own power, his role as a pirate captain is very unwilling. Hector has had a very rough past 10 years. He’s working under the orders of a pirate general of sorts who runs a criminal network primarily based around piracy and smuggling. Hector is essentially a puppet leader of the crew, who would willingly turn on him if he showed indication of betrayal. He’s been placed in charge of the Treasure Planet mission as a test, and ‘trusted’ with leadership of the crew. Hector has to play his role as pirate captain to survive his current environment and circumstances, that he has been trapped in for the past 10 years. Here is a link to the backstory of what happened.

Story Breakdown: (This is still kinda patchy and under-developed in some areas but bear with me)

Coco: Treasure Planet AU Part 1

the-skull-guitar:

Im gonna post my concept for this au within the plot of Treasure Planet, but before that I feel like I need to make this post establishing some important backstory for Hector (who is Silver in my AU, though with some key changes). Feel free to tell me what you think!

Ernesto and Hector: Before the Story.

I haven’t really worked out some parts of the backstory yet. I imagine they both were still musicians but perhaps their big ambitions were set on something else in this au – Ernestos at least.

Either way Ernesto during the time of the film is probably living it up as some popular and likely powerful person on some planet or in some system far from where Hector’s family live. He’s rich and well loved but for sure has some shadiness going on. Definitely has connections to pirates.

I’m thinking for his getting rid of Hector it was either very premeditated – Ernesto staging everything by ensuring that pirates will attack the ship he and Hector are on and hector is “accidentally” left behind when he and as much of the crew as he can “heroically rescue” get away – Ernesto probably believing that the pirates will do the rest of the job for him OR it was an act of opportunity, seizing his moment (most likely this one). He probably had been planning to get rid of Hector somehow it hector kept talking about going home/etc…whatever motive Ernesto has to want hector dead in this au. But instead an opportunity arises when pirates really DO attack the ship they are on.

Ernesto again carries out a rescue/escape during the attack but…realises when he sees hector that actually…this is an opportunity to get rid of him in a way that can easily be written off as bad luck and not look suspicious.

.
He leaves hector behind.
