‘childhood is when you idolize Batman adulthood is when you realize that the Joker makes more sense’ – this is the most Reddit thing I’ve read all day.

#I thought adulthood was feeling bad for all the stupid bullshit commissioner gordon had to put up with  (geologicadept)

Childhood is idolizing Batman, adolescence is thinking the Joker is right, adulthood is realizing that Gordon absolutely doesn’t get paid enough for this shit

“Batman has more than one son,“ I say into the mic.

The crowd boos. I begin to walk off in shame, when a voice speaks and commands silence from the room.

“She’s right,” I hear. I look around for the owner of the voice. There in the fifth row, he stands: Bruce Wayne himself.

“What does he know about Batman” the crowd replies and resumes booing. Bruce Wayne discreetly leaves the room. In an unrelated turn of events, a voice speaks from above. “She’s right,” I hear. There crashing through the skylight: Batman.

Flashpoint!Thomas Wayne makes his way into the main universe and meets his son. Now, the thing is, Flashpoint Batman is an incredibly broken man, so he is surprised and delighted to find that his son… isn’t?

Still, he’s a father, and of course he’s worried about the lonely path his son has taken. “Words can not express how proud of you I am,” he says, “but… are you happy? Do you think you ever might have time for a family?”

Bruce clears his throat and presses the intercom button. “Kids,” he says, “come downstairs and meet your grandfather.”

Thomas barely has time to brace himself before he is washed away by a flood of tiny vigilantes.
