Here’s a funny little story about my experience at Fan Expo this year, by the time myself and a friend of mine got up there, few more celebrities cancelled their appearances and some more were announced, one of which to my surprise was Billy Zane. While he may not be as big with the roles he’s had aside Back to the Future, Titanic, and Pocahontas 2 (for some reason…) but if anyone knows me there is only one reason why I brought him up at all. WAY back in Kingdom Hearts 1, he was the original voice actor for Ansem.
I figured he wouldn’t have anything of this character at his table and sadly if I had known about his appearance there, I would’ve printed off this pic to have him sign. But when I approached him and talked to him about his role in the game, not only did he actually remembered it, but actually drew me this with charcoal!
Don’t believe me? See the man making this for yourself!
Not often one gets an original sketch of the character the voice actor once played drawn life in front of ya =p.
Little is known about the origins of this practice, although there is some unfounded speculation that it is loosely derived from or perhaps inspired by ancient Aegean notions about bees’ ability to bridge the natural world with the afterlife.
Don’t worry, guys. Carl is clearly a brachiosaurus, which lived during the Jurassic period. (And before anyone says our lil’ boy Steve is a velociraptor and therefore puts our comic in the late cretaceous, aka the time of the comet–that lil guy could easily be a compsognathus or a caudipteryx, both Jurassic-era species of small theropod dinosaurs. So the light getting bigger every night is going to pass by harmlessly, and Steve and Carl can go on enjoying the stars together until they die of old age, since Carl has very few natural predators at his size and I bet he’ll protect Steve, if he needs it (though small, fast and carnivorous as Steve is, he probably won’t).
So it’s all good!!
That entire response explaining how these two characters didn’t die a fiery death but instead lived long and happy lives literally made my day.
When you find yourself in a fandom, clinging to one character only.
When you’re left hanging with so much angst and fucked up shit in the last episode/season/movie/book/chapter unexplained and you’re just shocked while the fandom is looking for clues and dropping metas and creating theories
