Fun Vampire Fact; the reason that Vampires traditionally cannot see their reflections in a mirror is because mirrors used to be backed with a reflective layer of silver — which, as the metal of purity, would not ‘interact’ with Vampires, who are the Devil’s work.

However, modern mirrors have used aluminum as their reflective backing for many years now — and aluminum is not a ‘picky’ metal at all. So Vampires are able to see their reflections in modern mirrors.

All I can think about is a vampire used to not seeing their reflection in mirrors for centuries, and one day they are just walking along and unknowingly pass a mirror backed with aluminum and THEY NEARLY SHIT THEMSELVES.

Silver Nitrate was also used in old photographs.

So when the modern camera came around, Vampires must of been enthralled by seeing their own image after centuries of having to rely on scared Artists to paint them.

Vampires would clearly be taking ALL the selfies.

wizard city’s cultures based on streets

lightningbats:

Unicorn Way – Unicorn Way is basically the nice suburb of Wizard City. There’s basically no crime or danger to beware. Many parents move to Unicorn Way so that their children can grow up close to the Commons and Shopping District but away from the other more dangerous streets. People who live here feel a constant sense of vitality and joy, making it very nice for most people, though a nightmare for Necromancers. Overall, Unicorn Way is just a joyful place, full of fun and magic.

Colossus Boulevard – Not many live here besides the Gobblers. Maybe a cult or two use the houses as places to hold their rites and rituals. Journalists from Marleybone or elsewhere come here to study and report about the Gobblers and Evil Snowmen. There’s basically no foot traffic, nothing to do, nothing to see (besides the gigantic Gobbler King).

Cyclops Lane – This street was originally the home of many displaced Conjurors, who were persecuted for a short time. However, once those days died out, Merle Ambrose decided to fund development of the lonely street, and that’s when the Wizard City Myth wizards started showing their more prissy, fancy sides. Cyclops Lane was infested with little tea shops, bakeries, and of course, laundromats. Nowadays, the street is a place for young, trendy conjurors to just hang out and summon a few cyclopses.

Triton Avenue – For many people, they can’t stand going to Triton Avenue. Constant rain, wild Diviners running around, the rampant Rotting Fodders. It’s a nightmare. However, some, usually the Diviners that inhabit it, can see its beauty. It’s a place of freedom, devoid of expectation. Sure, it’s a little dangerous. But if you’re more of a stay-indoors type of person, you can very well enjoy the pitter patter of the rain on your windows, as you keep warm in your Triton Avenue home.

Firecat Alley – Firecat Alley hurts to be in. Every step you take is like putting your bare foot on concrete in the Summer. For those who can handle it, like the passionate Pyromancers, Firecat Alley is a place of wonderful art, beautiful music, and friendly people. People respect each other here, and discussions of philosophy or something as simple as a Cool Color take place. The denizens of Firecat Alley won’t do anything if it isn’t mentally stimulating. And so, they don’t.

[Coco] Marching On

pengychan:

Title: Marching On
Summary:

The Final Death comes for everyone, eventually. Héctor knows it better than most; he came within moments of being forgotten, a very long time ago. He’d thought it was the worst feeling he could possibly experience in his afterlife, but he had been wrong.
He hadn’t counted on having to watch his family fade around him, one by one.
He hadn’t counted on finding himself alone again.

Characters: Héctor Rivera, Miguel Rivera, Imelda Rivera, Coco, Ernesto de la Cruz, the Riveras in general
Rating: G

A/N: This was my entry for the Coco Locos Angst Off contest. Had to stay anonymous until the voting ended, so I couldn’t put it on Tumblr. Then I forgot to do it. Now, by unpopular demand – read: absolutely no one asked – here it is.
I’m sorry.

***

Time marches on.

It is one of the most basic rules of the universe, in life and death. Time marches on, family lines get muddled and end – they can last a long time, their blood keeps running in the veins of the living,  but in the end names are just names and stories are just stories – and memories are lost.

It happens to everyone, eventually.

His bones are almost as yellow as they used to be, now, and the energy holding them together almost as faint. But this time he’s glad, it gives him hope. There is no family for him to visit on the other side of the bridge; they are all in whatever oblivion is to be found beyond the Final Death, and he cannot force his way through that.

He can do nothing but to wait, and keep marching on as time does, in the hope that he may see them again.

And he’s been waiting for so long.

Josie Overwatch Claw Machine and Vending Machine

Whew! I was finally able to sort out the glass texture issues with these and they are finally done. I think they’re adorable! I really like how well the textures match with the Sims 4, so I would say these are Maxis Match. They are deco only, base game compatible. Both machines are empty- the plushies and soda cans have to be placed using the MOO keys. You can even shrink in-game toys and put them in for a fuller claw machine. Hope you enjoy!

Download includes the claw machine, vending machine, standalone Onion plushy and standalone cans.
